Overview and location
Parco Naturale Sciliar-Catinaccio is situated in South Tyrol, Northern Italy. The park is easily accessible from the city of Bolzano, following the signs to the Alpe di Siusi or Seiser Alm, the largest high-altitude Alpine meadow in Europe, which forms part of the park. Visitors can reach the park by car, public transport, cable car or even by bike, making it a convenient destination for both local and international tourists.
Established in 1974, the park spans over 7,288 hectares and is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including the iconic Sciliar and the rugged peaks of the Catinaccio range. The park's name, derived from these prominent peaks, reflects its rich geological and cultural heritage.
