Lago di Carezza, also known as Karersee in German, is a stunning alpine lake located in the in Nova Levante/Val d’Ega in the Dolomites of northern Italy. Located at 1,519 metres above sea level, between lush pine forests and the majestic peaks of the Latemar mountain range, this small yet captivating lake is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery.

The legend of Lago di Carezza
According to local legend, Lago di Carezza was created by a sorcerer who fell in love with a beautiful nymph. To win her heart, he conjured a rainbow over the lake. When the nymph did not reciprocate his love, the sorcerer shattered the rainbow into pieces, which fell into the lake and gave it its mesmerizing colours.
